Cognitive Learning Theory
According to AlleyDog, the cognitive learning theory “explains thinking and differing mental processes and how they are influenced by internal and external factors in order to produce learning in individuals” (CITATION). There are three main processes: “observing, categorizing, and forming generalizations about our environment” (CITATION). “A disruption in these natural cognitive processes can cause behavioral problems in individuals and the key to treating these problems lies in changing the disrupted process” (CITATION). By integrating technology into the classroom, the cognitive learning theory is a great way to allow students to learn information in a separate way, using different methods to explain and deliver information to them.
